George Makkos is the President of a family-owned business whose diversified portfolio includes Real Estate holdings, Processed Meats Manufacturing, New York Pretzels, Restaurants and Banquet Facilities.
George Makkos was born in Athens, Greece. He was a teenager when his family immigrated to the United States and his father started a food vending business. George Makkos attended City College of The City University of New York. His familial obligation to, and fervor for, expanding the family business led George Makkos to immerse himself in its day to day operations. This important decision by George Makkos, to join his family's venture, facilitated the growth and success of the business, eventually developing into The Makkos Organization.
The George Makkos philosophy of finding the most qualified and talented individuals to manage his business, and his personal commitment to quality, excellence and attention to details have greatly contributed to the achievements of his organization.
In addition to presiding over this now multi-faceted enterprise, George Makkos has a strong presence in real estate investments in the New York metro region.
A loyal New Yorker, George Makkos and his organization are involved in various charities, including the Breast Cancer foundation, Goodwill Games, Make a Wish Foundation and Ronald Mc Donald House just to name a few.
A dedicated husband and father to his wife Antonia and twins Alexander and Paulina, Mr. Makkos maintains homes in Southampton, Long Island and Manhattan.
The Makkos Organization includes: M&T Pretzel, M&T Marketing & Sales Inc., Battery Gardens Restaurant, Terrace on the Park and the newest addition Venetian Yacht Club overlooking the Great South Bay on Long Island's South Shore as well as other banquet facilities.
